The Caribbean Division
The Board of Directors of the American Association for the Advancement of Science authorized the organization of the Caribbean Division in 1984 during a meeting in New York . The organizational meeting of the new AAAS Division was held on February 26 of 1985 at the Mayagüez Hilton Hotel, Puerto Rico . On this occasion, Dr. Juan Bonnet was elected as first president of the Division. Subsequent presidents have been:
