Message from the President
The Caribbean division
welcomes you to our web page. This year we are
devoted to reach out to our members. We are
eager to know you and to invite you to share the
excitement of science in our communities. There
is no doubt that our division is diverse. From
Mexico to Venezuela, from Jamaica to Trinidad.
This makes us richer.
As our division approaches
its 23 year we want to recognize the strength of
our science. We will host a scientific meeting
in October 20, 2007, at Inter American University of Puerto Rico in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. As
usual we welcome your participation. We urge
graduate students from our region to submit
abstracts for presentations that will compete
for the Robert Laurus Award which includes the
opportunity to represent the region in the
Annual AAAS meeting.
We also want to invite the
general public to visit this website and find
the resources that are available to you. Our
members are committed to bring science to the
communities, to spread scientific knowledge
because knowledge is power, power to be able to
influence decisions, power to take the reigns of
societal destiny. We hope you may contact us to
let us serve you. This is our mission.
